Abstract
In this seminar, Mademochoritis will present part of his ongoing thesis dealing with the socio-technical materiality of heat through the lens of thermal practices and adaptation infrastructures in Paris. Drawing from a literature review and fieldwork conducted in Paris and Barcelona, it examines how summer heat is negotiated and governed in urban contexts. The presentation will focus on the theoretical framework of urban heat adaptation, initial findings from expert interviews, and emerging discussions around the cooling of public spaces and buildings.
